Defenders of Marriage NOT intimidated!

June 3, Wednesday, 2009 - Homosexual pressure groups are trying to scare away potential Referendum 71 signees by promising to post their names and addresses to homosexual websites.

This is the same strategy that has been used in other parts of the country where radical homosexuals employ hostile, undemocratic, and intolerant intimidation tactics whenever their interests and intentions are challenged.

Some of these organizations take the politics of personal destruction to new levels. Because of my personal involvement with Protect Marriage Washington,  I have been been the recipient of dozens of obscene and threatening e-mails and phone calls since R-71 was filed just a few weeks back.

If the comments following a June 2 Seattle Times article are a good indicator, there is evidence that the intimidation tactics have backfired.  Protect Marriage Washington has heard from several hundred new R-71 supporters since the news of this effort broke two days ago - many of whom did not previously understand the radical nature of the homosexual marriage movement have now joined Protect Marriage Washington's efforts to gather signature for R-71.

While we can expect more of this type of "campaigning" as the signature gathering effort begins, Protect Marriage Washington will not be intimidated nor will they back down from their efforts to save marriage in Washington State.

Mission

The mission of the new PAC is to organize the effort to gather the 120,577 required signatures for Referendum 71 by July 25, 2009 to bring the controversial Senate Bill 5688 before the voters of Washington State in November. SB 5688 is a 110 page document which includes the phrase "marriage shall apply equally to state registered domestic partnerships" 180 times.

SB 5688 was packaged and presented to the legislature as a Domestic Partnerships expansion of benefits. In truth, it will demolish the state's historical understanding and definition of marriage as that of uniting a man and a woman for life as Washington State will immediately become subject to litigation by same-sex partners demanding that the courts overturn the Defense of Marriage Act and impose "same-sex marriage" (as happened recently in California prior to Proposition 8).
